You know your not supposed to cycle the glow plugs right? They stay on for 2 minutes after you turn the ignition on so there is no point in cycling them anyway.
that dinging noise reminds me of our old 2000 Ford F250 Powerstroke. It’d start righ up in 50+F (it doesn’t get that cold here in Texas/except recently. the last few years)
@Dmite911 if its warm you dont have to wait to start is out the wait to start light goes out in about 3 seconds. . . its when its cold out that you must wait up to 2 minutes for the glow plugs to cycle so it will start
ford doesnt recommend anything like holding the pedal down. ive worked on these trucks for 5 years and went through fords 7. 3 diesel class and nothing was ever said about holding the pedal down on a cold start and i took class in mn where they should of said something about it
@Dmite911 it all depends the wait to start light is telling you that the glow plugs are heating up the diesel fuel especially when it is cold out, diesel fuel is not like gasoline, when diesel freezes it turns to a gel, so if you hear someone say my Truck gelled up it means the fuel froze in the lines and they have to add 911 degel additive to there fuel and pray that it will get to the gelled section of the line and melt the fuel.
I let mine warm up for about 5 minutes. Keeps the engine nice.
@ryanbrown33 What I meant to say it hasn’t had any major problems!
at about :23 it says it has 197k miles and the truck has never been serviced. . . . ummm WHAT !?!
