2001 Dodge Ram 2500 5.9L Cummins Turbo Diesel Auto; No Throttle Responce?

while driving, suddenly there is no throttle responce when the voltage gauge is below 12v (when the intake heater comes on). This only happens when there is fewer than 12v when the heater cycles and it happens while driving, and when the gague returns and heater stops cycleing, its fine????????

  1. Mr. KnowItAll says:

I think you have two problems:

    1) Weak alternator not keeping up with the electrical demands being put upon it.
    2) Weak/worn electric fuel pump not supplying enough volume and pressure especially during low voltage problems from the alternator issue.

It’s seems odd your cold start heater is coming on after the engine is running and warm.
(Or does it do it first thing in the morning? for a minute or two?) That would be normal.
