I’ve been recently looking into toy haulers and trying to figure out how much my ‘08 chevy duramax can tow with a fifth wheel. The GVWR is 22k so that gives me like a max of 13,600 acording to chevy’s web site, which means im kind of pushn it with a 35 footer. However, a guy i know is towing a 40ft redline with his chipped ‘01 v10 f250 , is this guy crazy and just going to blow his trannsmission or could i pull the same?

you can pull about whatever ya want with it. . . . if its got a duramax its probably got the allison, wich are both under warranty!
Yeah you could move it pretty good. The only downside is if you get some jackass cop or DOT person and you get weighed. If your over weight, you better be able to reposition your load so that all axles are within limits, or your off the road!
I was rodeoing with some friends, and there truck was overweight SLIGHTLY, and they got shut down, I had to haul one of their horses, and they had to drain their fresh water tank in their living quarters, and they had a fine (don’t remember how much).
As for pulling it though, you you could. I’ve accidently been 6500# over GCW on my ‘01 Dodge 1-ton hauling hay, ran fine. The choice/risk is up to you. You may never get stopped at all, I’ve never been stopped to get weighed, but if you do. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
