@Boosted1981 Yeah, when I first got into diesels I thought the same thing, but they also have a longer stroke than a normal V8 engine. Or if you’re talking about Cummins, then I6.
@123Sander1231 Big diesel aren’t designed to operate at 5500rpm. In face semi’s like the 1700-2300 rpm range, and guess what the could pull 30 of your little golfs and get 6-7mpg doing it, can your golf do that. I think not.
@Boosted1981 they rev almost 3500 stock, that why they live for million miles. ive seen d-maxx rev 7grand before, ofcourse it was built for sled pull and the strip but hey that not bad for 404+CI diesel.

@123Sander1231 the peak tq is around 1800rpm, so those higher rpms are worthless. peak tq at lower rpms makes quick 1/4 mile times and a good puller. your vw would not pull a string out of a cats ass

Gotta love that Alli!

@123Sander1231 You have no clue about this, you’ve never driven one of these trucks. There’s no comparison between a Golf diesel and a DMax.

you use the torque in a truck to pull shit not fuck around in a little VW
thats a VW golf not a Chevy Duramax you idiot
@123Sander1231 so what if it only revs to 3000? this will out pull and give your golf a good run for its money
@Boosted1981 Roadtrucks will even rev beyond that. My Golf Diesel will do 5500 RPM with the rev limiter.
3000 RPM is rubbish!
my other buddy has a 5 stage switch with his EFI Live and he can rev over 4000rpms
whats really wierd for me bout those trucks. . . redline at 3000 D:
i know its a diesel, but still damn. . . thats low.
country road. . . . . . . wouldn’t have been good at a buck 20 LOL
go around it
