Cold start 50+ Year old Lister Diesel Engine. No glow plugs or easy start This engine had sat in a shed for 10 years before we got it. It normally starts faster but it ran out of diesel so there was some air in the fuel system I have been told it was made in 1959. It drives a fan at the back which can be disengaged and you can attach an irrigation pump to front.
Fantastic sound !!! Really diesel? !!!
surprisingly smooth? run. . . .
nice! who said? the good die young that sounds good for being dead my car don’t idle that well great job guy’s
Thats not a choke on your mercedes, its a governor?
hey i? subed
@kickass4510 it’s a stationary engine mounted on its original trailer so you can move it with a tractor or anything that has a jaw hitch. It’s got a big fan attached to the back of it for drying hay bales. You stack? your small? hay bales with air spaces in them and park it in front of them and let it run 24 / 7 fuel consumption is about 40 Gallons a day at full speed. and its got a PTO on the front to run an irrigation pump.
What is this engine? in?
@fozzersmisterlister
my 84? 300D Mercedes has a choke. . . . . its diesel
@aa2398a no choke on? diesels
the? best old engines. . . . i love them!!!!!
ran one of these for years, drying hay. Fuel consumption varied with the load, as the hay dryed it got lighter, but about 40 gals a day at full speed. Heavy fan connected directly to the back of the engine, but it started easy, great sound, used to keep? the neighbours awake!
@BurtBartlow got to admit id say you are correct. electronics usually dont last. the engine by itself ? sure. but the electronic parts most engines rely upon i doubt? i
Take? any engine made in 2011 and see if it starts this well in 2061. Bet it won’t.
is like a deutz engine
?
no choke?or primer pump
badass engine? regardless
@nrajcoomar I’m not not sure
I do know running it at just above idle it which is what it runs at in? the video it will run for 24 hours on about 60 Litres of diesel.
@p4rtn3r How? is the consumption on these engines
Excellent! Makes me want to search? the world over to find one!
Sounds nice?
wow!! air cooled diesel? !!!
@jayeastanglia The buton was pulled out but it runs on a 5 gallon drum of diesel and it ran out so there was still some air in the system after we bled it through. normally it starts first push of? the button
You? will find it will start much easier if you pull the little button out on the fuel pump.
@jayeastanglia I don’t know where it came from. I do know the chap it came from? had it sitting in his shed for about 10 years.
Think this is my old lister HA grain dryer that i sold more than a year? ago. . didnt come from a man near diss by any chance did it??
that motor? runs smooth as glass. it sounds great my friend
