What else did you add to get to 619 hp> It had 305 when you started +200 =505> I have 04. 5 with 325 100hp quadzilla 4″ exhaust cat ran away> Ram air induction>I get right 38 to 40 lbs boost> Make sure you have the aluminum intercooler not the plastic 1 or it will blow it> The trans will be the first to go unless you up grade it> Propane is a great up grade> Bigger Turbo only if you change injectors> More air more fuel> Get a down loader to change the computer will help> Over 500 hp you need 5+” exhaust as can’t keep putting more in with out room for it to exit> Look on dodge ram diesel forums they have already done this and can help you threw>

I can’t and don’t want to imagine what the drive pressure is if you’re making that much power with the stock turbo. What are your EGT’s when you’re running like this?

If you go to a larger turbo, at your power level, you need around a 66mm turbo.

One of the best is Industrial Injections PhatShaft series.

ATS’s Aurora 5000 would be good on your truck too. Its a modified K31 with a tighter exhaust housing. It has a 71mm compressor.

If I were making your power I would go for the Aurora 5000. For its size is spools very well.

If you get either of these turbos you also must be prepared to deal with the consequences of driving with a large turbo. In other words, lag. They’re also prone to bark if you let off the fuel quickly. Towing will be another challenge as you’ll have to run the engine a little faster to keep the turbo spooled (so you can get cool EGT’s and keep from blowing smoke everywhere). You’ll burn a little more fuel doing this but it can be done.

Since you will also be making more boost you really really need to invest in head studs. ARP makes about the best their is for the Cummins.

If you want to keep your quick spooling and driveability the only way is to go with twins (compound) turbos. They cost more but they are the best of both worlds. You’ll need to get head studs for these as well.

As far as how much power you will gain, its hard to say. But with the amount of power you’re pushing right now I would say you will gain a good amount simply because you will reduce restriction on the exhaust side of the engine. The stock 03 turbo is good but restrictive and is a definite choke point. Other than that you won’t gain much power. Boost doesn’t make power, fuel does. All boost does is allow you to have enough oxygen to burn the additional fuel.

Also if you’re pushing that much fuel you really should look into a fuel pump. The 03’s had an engine mounted lift pump that had to suck fuel from the tank. This was very hard on the pump and caused many failures of the CP3. First get a fuel pressure gauge and see how much pressure you have. Then look at something like a FASS or Glacier pump. I have a Glacier pump and can run right at 19psi at idle and can pull it down to about 15 at WOT.
