Powerstroke Performance – Duramax Performance – Cummins Performance

do i buy a ford diesel or dodge diesel? i have links to the two im choosing from.?

i am in a pickle of what vehicle i should trade my 2 door Z71 tahoe sport for. i need a diesel pickup, i have always been a cummins fan for the diesel mpg and the reliability, i have also heard the 7.3 powerstroke is a good motor as well.
what kind of fuel mpg does the ford get with the 7.3?
what are common problems with the motor or the truck?
here is the Ford link– http://dallas.craigslist.org/ftw/ctd/1316713134.html

ok, i know the dodge will get from 16-20 depending on how its driven, also, i know you have to put front brakes on a dodge every 20k miles or so. whats the difference in the 12v cummins and the 24v? what are common motor and truck problems with this vehicle?

and lastly, which truck do you think will be the best for me? i WILL be putting a edge, bullydog, or smarty chip in whichever truck i get, so keep that in mind. Thank ya’ll!

Well, I cant tell you much about the ford although, my guess on the difference on the 12v vs 24v is how many valves it has. Also, I am a huge dodge fan, although with dodge’s financial problems, the started to cut back on the parts they make. All aside though, I would go with the dodge, Truly, in my opinion, it has the best engine between the two. Dodge Vehicles from the 90’s generally got good reviews. One more thing, I would find out how many miles are on the ford.

Stay away from the Ford 6. 0 and 6. 4 diesels. Allways take a Cummins over them.

I think that it is good you are going to buy an American car. I’d say a Dodge cause Ford is doing a bit better than Chrysler so it’d be better to support them. But either way, you are supporting our country. ;-)
