Powerstroke Performance – Duramax Performance – Cummins Performance

How many miles should a person expect to get out of a deisel engine truck built 2000 or newer?

Dodge, Chevy or Ford. Powerstroke, Cummings or Duramax? Is 100K considered low mileage or half life of a diesel?

hey if the truck is taken care of it can get a lottt higher. . my truck is a 95 and it has over 200K and still runs great! just make sure everything has been kept up with

Th Dodge Cummings takes about 100-140K to break in, lots with 500K+ in the oil patch. The engine will outlast the body.

depends on the trips you make , short trips mean shorter life , I have seen some of those 14 litre cummins do a million miles , cummins built there reputation on this engine , dodge chevy and ford are good for maybe 3 or 4 k’s izuzu are very good , so is toyota , but you need to change the oil every 5-8 k’s plus filters , most diesels will do 3 k if you look after them ,

My brother has 240K on his ford 7. 2 powerstroke diesel and it runs like new. It’s a 1999. Usually around 300K is rebuild or resleeve. You cannot resleeve the 6. 0 or the 6. 4 newer diesels. Only rebuild. No experience with Chevy or Dodge. Ford uses International engines for diesel.
