  1. kenneth t says:

    between 5 & 8 MPG

Well . . . it’s not actually possible to answer that here.

Depends on how old the truck and engine is, is it an older pre ECU engine that’s a bit worn and done 1/2 a million or more miles, or is it a brand new EURO4 computerized engine?

Is the truck bobtail? Empty trailer? Fully loaded b-double?
What type of driving? Around town/local, or long distance?
Hilly country in the ranges or flat plains driving? or both?
18sp RoadRanger or 5 sp Allison auto?

The only way to get an accurate measurement is to drive on the intended route with the intended load then fill-her-up, and work it out.

BUT as a ball park, you could expect anywhere from 4 MPG up to 12+ MPG, but I know that’s not really a helpful answer.

there is no way it could ever be double digit mpg. yes there are so many things that could mean more or less mileage like computer programmer like a pittsburgh power box or upgraded ECM. loaded and unloaded is the biggest one. 4-8mpg
