Powerstroke Performance – Duramax Performance – Cummins Performance

Is it better to have a smaller diesel than a big gas engine?

For example, is it better to have a Ford F250 with a 6.0L Powerstroke turbo diesel than a GMC Sierra 2500HD with a 6.0L gasoline engine? Which would be worse on fuel economy?

The Powerstroke (Ford) will have more torque AND get better fuel economy than the same displacement gas motor from GM (assuming the rest of the truck is similar such as axle ratios), more so when loaded.

The diesel will really strut when it is pulling a load. . .

The diesel is all-around better, except for noise level. It will sound like a blown up tractor, but will get much better mpg and is much more suited for a heavy truck.
