is it true that a dodge cummins is only tuned to about 28% of max out of the factory?

is it true that a dodge cummins is only tuned to about 28% of max out of the factory? if so how does the max stack up aginst ford and chevy’s max for their duramax and powerstroke?

    You mean the boost? All turbo vehicles are limited from there full pontential! These is because if they maxed them out you can expect alot of unreliable cars.

    They do this for multiple reasons but mostly for reliability. Against the powerstroke the cummins is beat in pony power in torque, but the straight 6 is a hell of alot more reliable and fuel efficient than that engine. The duramax? Thats one of the worst diesel engines out there! ive seen very few that manage to make it 5 years before the owners call it quits!

    I have a 100Hp Mod on My 2004. 5 3500 SWB 4×4 auto. 2″ lift Boost is 43lbs gets 20 MPH HWY Cat ran away. Don’t know about the 28% but it hauls but and don’t need more Hp. Don’t like Gm with the IMPORT diesel engine. Ford great truck but to noisy. and terrible MPG
