Powerstroke Performance – Duramax Performance – Cummins Performance

Is the Popemobile diesel? If not, should it be?

I was just wondering. Up close photos shows it was made by Fiat. Anybody know what kind of power that baby is making? It looks like a small Jeep type vehicle. I’m guessing its a small diesel possibly a V-6 or and inline 6. If I could redesign the Popemobile I would make it out of a 3500 Silverado Dually with the 6.6 L Duramax turbo diesel and Allison transmission. I think the Pope deserves a REAL man’s ride, don’t you?

It used to be a land rover and they should have kept it that way.

The Popemobile is powered by a rotary-type (Wankel) engine. It delivers 155 HP and has 185 ft-lb of torque at 3,500 rpm.

The Pope has no desire to ride in a high-performance vehicle, believeing that “he who would be first must make himself last”.
