is this a good thang i want a chevy duramax?

i want a duramax . are they good in the city or just for tow and go ? i never owned a diesel so i dont know how they are all i can do is ask a lot of people .i here they get good mpg. is that only on freeways or good in the city to iam looking to get an 05 or newer duramax .

   best diesel imo is the cummins that are in the dodge trucks. very very well put together, decent gas mileage, with very good power. The duramax is a good engine from the Gm lines but stay away from the 6. 0l fords as they have some major issues with EGR and PCV which unless you run it like you stole will throw the SeS and shut down on you.
