this is my 1986 chevy k5 blazer with the stock 6.2 litre diesel engine and a dual flowmaster header-back 2.5″ stainless exhaust with no cats…sounds nice
they use a EGR system with newer trucks for ec? (emission control) which reburns the exhaust like a caty and than the ash drops to a filter and gets replaced every couple months
you can use either when you have glow plugs just make sure the engine is cranking when your sprayin either into the? intake not recommended but does work
first off glow plugs dont heat the fuel they heat the pre combustion? chamber right beside where the injectors are as the injector squirts fuel into the cylinder the fuel is mixed with the warm air causeing a burn the fuel can be cold and as long as u have warm air than it will still burn
so were these 6. 2L a good engine or did chevy have any problems with the engine. i got a newer blazer. kinda wish they? kept these diesels as an option
Check the metal bracket by the oblong plastic accumulator between your air breather and? the fresh air intake by the radiator, alot of them rattle, I have owned 6 of the 6. 2s and they all seem to do this
haha sorry man, i dont know. . . when i say header-back, i mean the exhaust system is from the manifolds? back. . . . . it has stock cast iron manifolds
hey, i can probably? tell you right now that your flexplate is cracked around the bolt holes on the crankshaft. . . . . i had the same problem with mine, not much of a big deal though, just slammed one on ‘er off one from a junkyard
Mine does something similar I have a manual transmission and I was told it’s the clutch. They make a “special” clutch for the diesels that has some kind of dampener that prevents that rattle. I have? a normal gas engine clutch so it rattles a little. I was also told that it’s totally fine and the only problem with having a gas engine type clutch is the noise.
I doubt? youtube is the best place to ask this, but i got an 84 K20 6. 2d here and i hear a rattle when im idleing in drive. its not very noticeable in park or any other gear, but if im at a light you hear what sounds like a chain kinda noise coming from under the truck, i looked and everything down there seems tight so could it be in the transmission? anybody else ever have this?
the ‘timer controling card’ controls how much ? time the glow plugs will be actvated before each starting. Sometimes the timer controler card keeps energyzing even after engine starts. I been toll this is to make the combustion more efficient. mine M-1008 used to do this.
hey check out my vid my pickup is the same paint year and? engine as yours
fuck yeah! I have an ‘83 Silverado? with the 6. 2L diesel in it. I get so many looks driving down the road in it.
I have a ‘85 with the 6. 2, and I think I’m right in saying, the blazer and that diesel are a perfect? combo.
Do you know where I can get a signal light assembly? for the front end behind the grill
@FrawstbyteEXG Timing chain stratched out and? slapping the cover. Replace it because when it breaks it will bust that entire accessory cover.
if you need parts? check out. . . iPartCarsDOTcom. . . . . . can u believe they made me spell out DOT. . . lol
Thats a healthy engine. ? it started right up! My 76 takes forever to start. probably because its not fuel injected. . . Sounds great. Good video

Canadian 6. 2L diesels have a unique and distinct? idle sound.

Yeah those egr valves are a pain in the ass. Horrible technology,? i have so many problems with mine.

So does? it make a sound difference with headers on then with the iron manifolds on these diesels?
