I have an 06 Ford f-350 6.0l Powerstroke with 52,700 miles. It blows excessive white smoke. It smells like RAW diesel. I have a large reduction in mileage. Every time i start it at an idle it goes down .1 MPG. I checked the Oil and its not blowing smoke out of their. Check the exhaust for a burnt exhaust valve. And i am building pressure in the coolant so its not a head gasket. I took it to the dealer and they changed the EGR cooler, the injector control module, and they checked the Injectors they tested good. I had oil in the coolant, and coolant level has gone down, although i am not sure. The engine runs perfect except for the smoke so i dont think its a ring. Oil on boost tubes leading to intercooler and on turbo. Turbo builds boost, What could it be?????

Oil in the boost tubes and intercooler is from the crank case vent. . . not good. . . . but its normal. Some owners re-route the ccv to vent out into the open air or you can buy a racor set-up for about $300.

just cause your building pressuse in your coolant system dont mean its not the head gasket. i owned a 03 with a 6. 0 for about two years and in that time i went through 3 sets of head gaskets, they are notorious for it. i know its a pain you got to lift the cab off the frame and all that good stuff just to pull the heads but i would be willing to bet a good chunk of change that your gonna need a set of head gaskets, and if that is the problem you absuletly should put head studs in. its well worth the extra money
