I am thinking about buy an 77 Ford f-250 With a gas engine. It has been rewired and completely redone. The engine cabin is almost empty the engine seems to take up no room.
I might buy it and drop in either a 7.3 or 6.0l Powerstroke, either one their both good in my eyes. Iv had both. No biased remarks just friendly advice. Im going to take the engine and transmission out of this one and put in a 7.3 – 4r100 or a 6.0l – torque shift.
I want to know what i would have to do put a powerstroke in this truck besides some new wiring. Trans and a powertrain control module and some suspension work to cope with the extra Weight in the front.

forget it
up rate brakes suspension fuel system
clutch and box should come from new engine to cope
will old dash work speedo etc
Its a F250 so I wouldnt worry about the brakes. . unless theres a big difference in approvement. I would go with the 7. 3. Everything is accessible from the top of the engine unlike the 6. 0. If the turbo or fuel pump goes out on the 6. 0 then the engine has to come out or you will have to take the cab off. . . . not sure how hard that would be on those models. And 6. 0s are more prone to blowing turbos because of how fast they spool up. Its also going to need a full updated CLEAN fuel system. The 6. 0 fuel system is more sensitive than the 7. 3 and it’s CAT designed injectors.
“I want to know what i would have to do put a powerstroke in this truck besides some new wiring. Make sure you go ahead and put a billet tc in the 4R100.
