Some good info to have: I recently found that Donaldson canister filters with 1″-14 threads will fit the Racor housings design for R-series filters.

I have a Racor 645 housing with a Donaldson P553203 filter on it. The? P553203 is 8″ tall drainable FF/WS rated at 3 micron absolute.

Knowing this interchange could be valuable out on the road.

    Ok. . . I will. ?

    He walked off. . . . ? LIKE A BOSS!!!

@powerstrokehelp Yeah I? figured that. But what I don’t understand is why the fuel pump won’t pull fuel through the new lines and filter? Should I get a Racor with a priming pump?

  5. powerstrokehelp says:

@spencnaz Probably got air in the system. ?

I just plumbed mine in using Parker rubber lines to the? fuel pump. Truck starved of fuel and died. Should I have filled the Racor with fuel first and then started the truck?

    Thanks Bill !
I plan on using this system with the 2 micron filter. I don’t EVER want to go through the pain again of new injectors. Ford quoted me $4000 + to do a full set ! However, I plan? on having Elite Diesel Engineering do mine because they are much less.

  8. powerstrokehelp says:

@txgp17 5/16? should be ok with moderate or stock tuning.

  9. txgp17 says:

@powerstrokehelp Bill, after watching this, I got a Racor filter of eBay with some 2 micron elements. On my 02, I inserted a brass barb in the rubber line connecting the metal line to the pump, ran it to the filter and back . This barb was 5/16″ if I recall. Do you think this smaller barb will restrict flow too much?

I’m concerning about starving my injectors. I’ll be putting in new ones in #2,3, & 8 over the weekend.

Thanx so much for your videos. ? They’re a BIGG HELP.

  10. powerstrokehelp says:

@louie9456 The? line that goes to the fuel pump. The pump needs to draw through the filter.

  11. powerstrokehelp says:

    @Lasselkv28 10 micron?

  12. louie9456 says:

which line do you connect the filter to top or bottom line on a 6. 0 Thanks? great video on raycor

  13. louie9456 says:

Which fuel line do i use to connect the raycor fuel filter. My 6. 0 has two lines? going to the pump on the fram rail is it the top line or the bottom line. Thanks great help

  14. Lasselkv28 says:

Do you use the 10 micron? or the 30 micron filter? Looks like a R90 element.

  15. MikesFitnessGoals says:

    Outstanding, thanks!?

  16. Lasselkv28 says:

Racor, Separ and Stanadyne? filters are used everywhere today.

  17. LosBanosF250 says:

@spencnaz I think you install it between the tank and the pump. ?

  18. typhoon5000 says:

Bill, thanks for the advice,? but do you think this is required for the 6. 4L considering it already has a fuel/water separator and two fuel filters on it? I guess it doesn’t hurt to have a redundant system, considering how sensitive the injectors are, but you don’t mention the 6. 4L in the video, only in the title. Thanks for the insight.

Hello, I have a 97 7. 3 and I wanted to know? what saginaw pump model
you mentioned in your video that would fit 7. 3? Also is there any mounting brackets I would need to install it?

Thank you, your videos are the best by a long shot!!!!!!!!!

  20. spencnaz says:

Do I install the? Racor between the fuel pump and the engine? I have a 2001 Powerstroke. Thanks.

  21. crash50458 says:

Do you need to get a different model for the 6. 0l? since there is 2 lines coming into the pump that is mounted on the rail below the drivers side door?

  22. chatrkat says:

thanks for including all the part numbers!? looks like a very worthwhile upgrade. BTW the Racor 320R-RAC-01 filter is available from Amazon for 73. 00

  23. powerstrokehelp says:

It should not put any more strain as long? as the filters are kept clean.

  24. emzarino says:

Will this put additional strain on? the lift or injector pump?

  25. MTGunNut says:

    Great video, as? usual!
