This video illustrates what happends when these two stroke semidiesels run out due to too much oil in the crankcase. With my left hand, I block the injection pump, so from that time the engine run on lube oil only, no diesel at all. I have heard lots of stories about this from decades ago but this is the first time, to my knowledge, that it is captured on video. Luckily we had blocked most of the air intake prior to starting and ended at somewhat over 1000 rpm. Max operating rpm is 425-450. With full air supply, I would guess this engine would reach thousands of rpm and I could only guess what would have happened then… The electric glowplug short circuited so we had to rely on the propane burner which had slightly low temperature. In this startattempt, we used an autogen burner and got the glowplug bright red. The crankcase was, unfortunately, filled with too much oil so the engine was running on its lube oil from the crankcase instead of diesel. Still some trouble with the fuel injection, doesn’t feel right when injecting diesel manually.

24 h. p. ,but how much torque ? must be a huge number, looks like it could pull a house.
I was watching that flywheel and pipe the whole time cringing.
??????????????
@hapt1K Go suck on your mama’ tittie, girly man.
The big guy is having fun. Screwed with it until got it running. Belching fire, smoke, the only thing missing is burning rubber. Good video
Man thats crazy. I love it. I like big motors jumping around and going wild. Do it some more.
@SveinHaDD
Ok thanks
Strange there is no marks or holes for levels
habitually the old machines are very practical to use
@michaelovitch Well, nobody knew how much oil there should be so we added some, too much obviously. When the engine is running, there is added a small amount of oil continuously and when the level is high enough, the engine sucks it into the combustion chamber where it is burnt. I believe this is not noticeable under normal running conditions.
Why you didn’t remove the excess oil of the cranckcase ?
That would have been scary as hell :S
thats gone wild
@SveinHaDD Neat video! The engine had a pretty good sound towards the end of the video. It sounded sleepy at first, then woke up from a good nap
@austinbrock112 it was in a run away. it was running on moter oil inplace of diesel fuel
aahahahahaha what a smoking animal!
Fantastic video and very informative too. Very brave to stick with it. you are lucky it did not flip on you. Thanks for posting it.
When you have that big lump of rusty metal and it starts bouncing up and down like it’s having a fucking seizure, it’s time to radio Huston ‘cuz you know you have a problem.
@austinbrock112 At 1:29 I block the fuel supply by holding the governor piston to the upper position and thereby inhibiting fuel supply. From this point to 2:54 it runs on lube oil from the crankcase only.
@SveinHaDD———- Man, you really DID it! I hadn’t felt these sensations, (half panic & half broad pleasure) for years! Five-star video among a lot of tasteless, gloomy, senseless stuff, this is a real gem!
@SveinHaDD very cool vid, deffinatly a cool thing to see
@braydenraysdad These kind of engines were widely used for ship propulsion for many decades in the? last century.
what did this engine originaly go to?
thats some really cool stuff. i hope you guys are passing on your old knowledge to the nest generations. electronics are killing mechanics
@Gemetzell It’s NOT sped up. This one, and all of my other videos, are all running at normal speed. . .
Why is the video sped up?
THAAAT THIING IS FKIN MEEAAN!!! you guys definetly have balls of steel!! thumbs up for you!!
