If you have a manual transmission it is a optimal recommended time to shift. If you have automatic may be something else.
your truck has a computer when there is a problem those lights come on. it could be a serious problem or a loose wire get it checked out so you are not on the highway when the throttle gets stuck and you can’t stop
The computer will default to limp-home mode when that light comes on. I suggest you take it to a dealer shop so they can scan for trouble codes and diagnose the problem. I suspect you have a turbo problem, maybe the VGT solenoid (variable geometry turbo solenoid) is sticking or faulty and causing a boost problem (over boost or under boost) or it might be that the turbo vanes are carboned up and binding and causing a boost problem. But the first thing you should check are the clamps on the turbo tube hose. You get no boost pressure if that turbo tube from the turbo to the intake blows off. Happens a lot.
