When I turn my Key and wait for the little yellow light to go off before I start my truck, there is a ticking noise coming from behind the dash in the engine compartment. After I start the truck this noise continues off and on continuously every 15 seconds or so.
Lately the sound seems to have developed a little more of a rattle outside of the typical noise it used to make and now I am a bit curious if a problem is developing that needs immediate attention. I am 48 years old and a previous auto mechanic but don’t do diesels.

it could be a relay fixing to go bad on it i own a 97 model and its got a relay in the fuse panel that will occasionally make a noise like that,see if you can try and locate it and narrow it down some more,and i,ll be glad to help you with it,good luck.
