Cummins. Cummins is not made by Dodge, they are independant company that is in a working relationship with Dodge. Their engines are pretty much bullet-proof.
If you’re considering a HD truck like that, I’d still have to recommend the Ford though. Dodge aren’t the most long lasting trucks and seem to be plagued with issues. Many of my associates have had Dodge’s and been very dis-satisfied with them.
you put them in order yourself. dodge, chevy, then ford.
Fords 7. 3 liter diesel is incredible. I sold my ford van and I put 60+ thousand on it(and I bought it with over 100K). I had very few problems with it,I sold it, and the guy who bought it I see every now and then and it runs like a dream to this day.
I say Cummins. They seem to have the best fuel economy and longevity. The Powerstroke’s have a problem with high EGT’s when altered, ahile the Cummins will still keep their EGT’s at a safe level.
I don’t have much experience with the Duramax, but the new LBZ motor is supposed to be a good one. The last Duramax motor LLY is supposed to be the ‘hotrod’ of motors if you are going to build it up a lot.
Any person who knows anything about towing will tell you the Dodge with the Cummins.
