My truck started out at 12mpg. Now with my current mods I get 15-17mpg and 18-21mpg highway. I recently drove 3hrs on the Natchez trace at 48-53mph and got 23mpg.

For the mods you need to go in this order. . .

    >Cold air intake (AFE stage I or II $2-400)
    >4″ turbo back exhaust (got my MBRP exhaust for $290 of xtremediesel. com)
    >Gauges (got my GlowShift trans/pyro/boost gauges off ebay for $200. . . installed myself)
    >Billet Torque converter. . . . you truck is fixing to be making too much power for the stock torque converter to handle. You need to go ahead and install this along with a shift kit to avoid a full transmission rebuild.

    >Tony Wildman chip for $300 (free lifetime retuning with proof of purchase) at totaldieselperformance. com. Or Jody at DP tuner. These 2 chips are top preffered among powerstroke owners becuase they are custom tuned to what has been done to your truck and you will see better performance with these chips vs a generic tuner.

Visit powerstrokehelp. com. Bill has a lot of great videos to watch about all model powerstrokes ( – the new 6. 7). He has a section of videos that strictly address your question.

have you been getting lot of smoke recently? or anything of that sort? I’d say run it down to 1/4 tank throw some injector cleaner in it and rod the hell out of it while pulling a trailer to clean the injectors out real good. by all means make sure you’ve got 5 extra gallons with you so you don’t run it dry and ruin the lift pump. change the air filter out with a new one. those worthless pieces of junk they throw on top of the da** filter box are worthless. they rarely work right so that’s what I’d recommend doing it’s always good to run some injector cleaner in it every once in a while if you’re not already doing it. and weather you’re supposed to or not check the filter by opening the box instead of using the stupid a** gauge on the top of the box.
