I am Smokersteve on the forums. The 5thwheel is 10186lbs dry. This video is a WOT off throttle pull (I did not boost the truck before I took off). Egt’s never pass 1400* under 3000 feet with the STREET tune from Innovative Diesel Performance. The tune adds 100-120hp. Just got back from a vacation with a total drive time of 15 hour . I pushed the truck many times, never passed 1400*F. In this video My truck had 70000 miles on it. The truck has: ARP head studs, Edge Insight, Rhino Lining, Husky mats, Mercon LV in the transmission, Cat and muffler delete pipes, Coolant filter, Bypass oil filter, High Idle Mod, 2.5″ front lift, Hood Insulator, SCT with Innovative ECO TOW and STREET, VXCF4 ford flash, Mobil 1 5w-40 diesel oil, Zoodad mod with a fine screen, BFG all terrain on the stock 18″ rims, Continental ContiTrac TR on Ultra Barron 18″ rims, FIrestone Ride Right rear air bags, Amsoil in the front diff rear diff and transfercase, Drilled out fuel banjos and removed check valves, Updated Fuel regulator kit, Fuel psi gauge, JVC radio and nav unit with a back up camera, Unplugged egr valve, I cut off the up-pipe scoop and welded a block plate in the tube from the up-pipe that feeds the egr cooler.
@JustJoshinY? man bully dog is probably the worst tuner. . nothing is done with the tranny and their concept is when in doubt throw more boost at it the 6. 0 will not handle it i had one in my 6. 0 but ive got studs that are thicker and better quailty than arps thats the only way i feel comfortable with it makes a shit ton of power on a kiss my ass principle
@JustJoshinY The Stock bolts will show normal bolt heads. ARP head studs will sho a stud with a hex fitting in the stud and a nut arround the stud. There will be threads sticking? up on the stud with the nut,
The bullydog has never let me down and? I’ve had absolutely no problems with it. I got 90k on the truck and it still runs like a charm. I haven’t looked into it, but I’m kinda curious if the previous owner ARP studded it.
@JustJoshinY Do you go on the forums? Bully dog is not a good tuner? to use. SCT custom tunes is the #1 choice. Waiting for head gaskets to fail is not a good to do. Head gaskets failer is not because of the head gaskets. They fail due to the week head bolts that stretch. When they stretch, the heads warp. Many times they warp too much and you have to replace the heads. Do ARP studs with OEM head gaskets before you get head gasket issues. This is the BEST and cheaper solution/fix. Do not wait.
@pbalerig? bully dog tuner. tow/econ, performance, and extreme tunes. in tow/econ i can make it roll smoke without a trailer. thats the only thing i have done to it. im waiting for the headgaskets to pop. . . lol
@JustJoshinY
What modifications do you have? I use the “Street” tune from Innovative diesel. at full throttle, I can see smoke but It is very very hard to see, even when I look? right at the tail pipe at see level. Above 3,000feet, if I look I can see smoke just fine, its not allot but I can see it.
Wow. I have a cougar camper just like that and a 2006 6. 0. My camper is a 34 ft and around 11,500? loaded. My truck smokes a lot more than yours though
This thing sounds awesome?
@willienunya You can get a bypass oil filter if you want. The best I got out of mobil 1 was 8,000 my first test. You will have to test rhe oil to find out what oil? will last the longest for how you drive it. I doubt any one can go more than 10,000 miles. You do not NEED the bypass oil filter. The kits are expensive. This is why I buil my own system. I found the NUC bypass oil filter mount on ebay for $20, oil filer cap $60 from NUC’s web site. Many stick with 5,000-6,000mile intervals.
@willienunya For how expensive amsoil is, it is not worth it. Rotela, mobil and valvoline are highly used. The only way to tell is an oil is better than another is to test it. I use black stone labes to test my oil. I have a bypass filter. So far with mobil I am able to go 8,000 miles but that was my first test on my previous oil change. Right now I? am at 6,000miles and will test it again at 8,000miles and see how it compaires.
You should first do research, then ask questions on hte forums.
Your right, I learn more about my toyota? from Blog’s then I have my dealership. I go by the computer, no fill ups yet. :^) Still looking for that synthic oil he used in the Ford. Amsoil is the name.
@willienunya You really should go on the forums, not from word of mouth. ? powerstroke. org, ford-trucks. com. Those are my 2 favorite diesel forum sites. You will get better and more suggestions.
What tuner do you have? Do not go buy the computer for accurate mpg, hand calculate your mpg.
I’m afraid I would have to explain, the man I bought his truck from put extra large exhust, chipped it up and the computer says I’m getting 13. 6 towing this HEAVY Lance truck camper which weights over 2 tons. That’s great mileage if true, I hear so many bad things about the 6. 0, EGR, do this, do that, one guy pointed out to me, YOU only do these things to improve MPG, Again nice rig you have with a great sound. It’s good to know your turbo gauge goes no higher that? makes me feel better.
@willienunya Take a video and link it to me. It should only move a little unless you got a heavy foot. . Cr using on the highway It is normal to sit around 5psi, maybe a? little more. Cruising on the high way towing my 10,000lb 5thwheel I sit around 10psi.
You can also get a boost gauge from a local auto parts store. There are many different gauge mounting options, most common is the drivers pillar.
@pbalerig it changes when I tow, take off, but? only a little, no odd sounds at all, normal power but remember this truck is new to me and I kind of get worried about the 6. 0, Normally I’m a Dodge man but hate the weak transmissions.
@willienunya Are you saying that the boost gauge sits at 0 all the time? what do you mean it will go up to 30psi? when you tow? does it sit at 30? At what points does the boost change? do you still have normal power?
I have a 6. 0 350, king ranch, I am worried my turbo gauge is 0 just sitting there. Is that normal? It will go up to 30 with? the camper. no smoke, 4. 10 rear end, 2006 model,
Nice truck you have there. VERY NICE!
@autumnwind47 Thanks! I have? really liked that I got the delete pipes over the full exhaust system. Its not loud all the time, but it can be loud when I want it to be(heavy foot).
Nice. Exhaust sounds? perfect!
I? just did a 0-60mpg run with my latest updates(on my page). I got a 6. 45-6. 49seconds. I cant remember exactl,y but I know it was between 6. 45 and 6. 49. This was off of my edge insight, 4×4 high and I did not have any tire spin.
@linkthemain
Innovative “Street”? tune at sea level.
What tune were you using here? Burns pretty? damn clean.
@superdznuts99
Yea, thanks man!
I just got new? rims so this is the perfect time!
nice? truck bro! can we get a walk around video soon
It sounds even? better in person! haha
Thanks 06DB
